Luke Napping
40" x 30"
Oil on Canvas 2002

I was yearning to paint the human figure and on a larger scale. I had sketched my son Luke napping on our living room couch and I was moved by what I captured. He seemed so innocent and peaceful and cozy. I wanted to convey that with the paint application, the colors and the composition. Luke is placed on purpose in the corner of the painting to help create the feeling I got from witnessing this sweet moment in time.
